MENTAL HEALTH & SUICIDE EDUCATION and PREVENTION TRAININGS

Community education is an important part of stopping suicides.  We offer several trainings to help support someone that may be experience a crisis.

 

Question, Persuade, ReferThe Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR)

A three-hour Live, virtual workshop featuring powerful presentations, audiovisuals, and skills practice. QPR is a Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention designed to teach lay and professional “gatekeepers” the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. Provides up to date statistics and recent trends on suicide prevention education.  QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer – the 3 simple steps one can learn to help save a life from suicide. QPR is a flexible training modality that lends itself to in person, virtual and online training methodologies, and also allows for the added benefit that specialized modules or customization can be incorporated to increase application and relevance to different audiences. 

FEE: $75/Person, Minimum 10 Students ($750)

Mental Health First Aid

(MHFA) is a one-day, skills-based training that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues. This certification uses  curriculum to increase the audience’s knowledge and skills, builds their confidence to recognize/engage an individual in a mental health crisis, increases awareness of participants’ own personal mental health, and educates.   Training provided Live, virtually (with approximately 2-hours of self-directed online preparation work that must be completed before the live training.)

FEE: $150/Person, Minimum 10 Students ($1500)

Fee includes presenters, materials and virtual registration fees. 

 

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

(ASIST) The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day, In-Person, interactive workshop in suicide first aid.   ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

FEE: $300/Per Person, Minimum 15 Students ($4,500)

Fee includes presenter, hand-out materials and misc. expenses.  Space provided by host agency.
